Both PTSD and C-PTSD are clusters of symptoms. These symptoms are not the problem. What causes them is the problem we need to identify and resolve.
These symptoms are caused by traumatic stress. Traumatic stress happens when you directly experience a life-denying event, witness another person experiencing a life-denying event, or learning about it happening to someone close to you. However, not everyone develops the PTSD symptoms.
C-PTSD is caused by chronically experiencing life-denying events, witnessing others chronically experiencing life-denying events, or learning about it happening to someone close to you. Again, not everyone who chronically experiences life-denying events develops the symptoms of C-PTSD.

“When I first met with Mark, I was a mess, many unresolved issues as well as the one that broke me. I’ve been to therapy before and while those therapists helped with the immediate issue at the time no one ever delved deep into my past or my personality, so my behavior remained the same and led me to my break down.
Mark opened my eyes to reality and more importantly to myself and helped me work through and understand what I needed to do to keep from repeating past mistakes in the future. The tools he suggested for me are ones I will use from now on to keep me on the right path to good mental health, knowing my self-worth and keeping me from becoming my own worst enemy again. Mark is amazing and I can’t ever thank him enough for helping me find the path to good mental health and wellbeing. He’s the best in my book!!!”
