In my view, your anxiety isn’t the problem. It’s a cluster of symptoms caused by what produces it. To resolve your anxiety, we must address what causes it. We identify its potential causes by doing a thorough assessment.

First, know this: anxiety is not due to a “pharmaceutical deficiency.” Medication does not cure anxiety. It reduces its intensity. Anxiety medications have both benefits and risks.

Second, we need to rule out any physiological causes of your anxiety. Your primary care provider does this.

Once physiological causes are ruled out, the most common cause of anxiety is stress. Stress can seriously damage the health of your human spirit, body, mind, and relationships.

There are six (6) types of stress that can cause anxiety: traumatic, chronic, cumulative, transitional, circumstantial, and complex. Living with two or more of the first five types of stress causes complex stress. Complex stress is a common cause of anxiety. Traumatic stress is often in the mix of complex stress. When complex stress, especially traumatic stress, is resolved, so does your anxiety.

There are other, less common causes of anxiety. We’ll address them all and help you resolve your anxiety, so you can live a healthier, happier life, and realize your dreams.
