Holistic Connection includes our relationships
Holistic Mental Health Care is Healing

The differences between wholistic and holistic mental health care are significant. Wholistic mental health care tends to focus on clients as whole persons. They aren’t their anxiety, depression, or trauma. They are whole persons with a body, mind, and spirituality.

However, wholistic mental health care often gives little attention to our human spirit, holonic nature, and our relationships with others.

My Approach to Holistic Mental Health Care

Holistic mental health care, as I provide it, acknowledges and attends to much more than the whole person. It acknowledges and attends to us as living holons. As living holons, we are unique living wholes that contain smaller holons and participate in larger holons. As holonic beings we are also connected with everything that is inside and outside our bodies.

My approach to holistic mental health care acknowledges that everything is spirited and alive. Everything connects. Everything is related to everything else, and our relationships need healing too. The healthier our relationships, the healthier we are, so is everything we relate to.

Our Human Spirit, Body, and Mind as Living Holons

Internally we consist of three main living holons: our human spirit, body, and mind. All three interact with each other and contain smaller holons. Our human spirit makes and keeps our body and mind alive. Without it we have no living body or mind. Our body interacts with our spirit and mind, and our mind interacts with our spirit and body.

Our spirit’s smaller holons include a natural aspiration toward life, health, and happiness; drives that keep us alive: hunger, thirst, sleep, etc.; emotions and moods; inner wordless knowing; and character.

Our body’s smaller holons include eleven physical holonic beings mechanically called systems: our nervous, endocrine, respiratory, cardio-vascular, digestive, lymphatic, reproductive, urinary, integumentary, skeletal, and muscular systems. These are connected with each other and participate in the five larger internal holons called our five senses.

Our mind’s smaller holons include our languages, thoughts, beliefs, memories, judgments, and imaginings.

Our External Holonic Relationships

Externally we humans participate in countless larger living holons. To give one example, locations are living holons. They contain smaller holons and participate in larger ones.

Examples include our housing, neighborhood, district, city or town, county, state region, state, national region, country, hemisphere, planet, solar system, galaxy, and beyond. Note that all these locations were born, are living, changing, growing, declining, and will eventually die.

Holisitic Mental Health Care and Life Therapy Education

In Life Therapy Education together we acknowledge and attend to you as a living, holonic being. We also attend to your relationships with your internal and external holonic beings who influence the quality of your life, health, and happiness.

In my next post, I’ll share more about my view of us human beings. I’ll share that as living holonic beings we are both particles and waves.
